Yellowknifer reported missing has been found safe

Brett Meyer confirmed he is back home after being reported missing by the RCMP early on Thursday evening.

The 28-year-old told Cabin Radio, “[I] appreciate all of the support … even from people I don’t know.”

Meyer was found around 6:30pm, about an hour after the RCMP issued a release requesting the public’s assistance in locating him.

“When a missing person is reported, we deploy all efforts to locate them as quickly as possible.  In this case, the man was located soon after our request was sent out,” said Marie York-Condon, RCMP spokesperson, in a follow-up statement.

“We thank the media and citizens of Yellowknife for their assistance,”

Meyer was last seen at a residence around the 52nd Ave and 54th St area of Yellowknife on Wednesday night around 11pm.

He was reported missing at at approximately 8:45am on Thursday morning.
