Franklin Avenue was briefly blocked to southbound traffic early on Friday after a vehicle struck a telephone pole, police said.

A range of emergency vehicles attended the scene on Yellowknife’s main road, just south of Mildred Hall School, shortly after 6am on Friday.

Police said the driver was taken to Stanton Territorial Hospital with minor injuries.

“An RCMP investigation did not find any criminal elements or impairment,” read a statement.
