Police incident on Yellowknife’s Old Airport Road

Traffic on Yellowknife’s Old Airport Road was disrupted by an incident involving police on Monday morning.

Multiple police vehicles were seen near the intersection with Borden Drive, adjacent to Home Hardware.

On Tuesday, police said a car and minivan had collided at the intersection at approximately 11:10am.

One person was transported to Stanton Territorial Hospital.

Police said the cause of the collision remains under investigation.

City of Yellowknife emergency vehicles were also at the scene, while photos taken by witnesses appeared to show at least one private vehicle with significant damage to its hood.
