Nominations are open for residents to put forward the NWT’s most dedicated volunteers for a series of awards.
If you know someone whose volunteer work makes a big difference to your organization or community, you can nominate them for an NWT Outstanding Volunteer Award.
The Department of Municipal and Community Affairs is accepting nominations until Friday, April 12.
You can submit nominations on the department’s website.
There are four categories for nominations: Elder, youth aged under 25, individual aged 25 to 54, and group.
Nominees will be assessed according to the duration and impact of their volunteer work; the “uniqueness and inclusiveness” of their contributions; their leadership role; and the challenges or barriers they are overcoming in their work.
Winners receive a certificate and $500 to donate to the organization of their choice.
