Vehicle collision on Yellowknife’s Franklin Avenue

Two vehicles collided on the hill leading from Yellowknife’s downtown to Old Town on Tuesday morning.

A witness who heard the collision and observed the aftermath reported nobody appeared seriously hurt, though emergency services had not immediately confirmed this.

The collision took place shortly after 8am. Municipal enforcement officers arrived within minutes.

A silver vehicle with its airbags deployed, facing down the hill, showed significant damage to its hood, while a truck facing up the hill exhibited damage to its passenger-side bodywork.

Though the incident briefly disrupted traffic, vehicles were soon able to move past the scene.
