Police, mystified by Yellowknife man’s injury, ask for help
RCMP in Yellowknife published an unusual public appeal on Tuesday as they asked for help explaining how a seriously injured man came to be hurt.
Police urged witnesses to come forward and help their investigation into the incident, which is believed to have taken place in the early hours of Friday, March 22.
According to a police news release, “a male received a serious injury and was treated at Stanton Territorial Hospital, then transported to Edmonton for further treatment.”
However, how that injury happened is not known. The exact nature of the injury was not provided.
Police want people who may have witnessed what happened to the man – or who noticed suspicious activity around the intersection of 50 Avenue and 50 Street between 1:30am and 1:45am last Friday – to get in touch.
“RCMP would like to determine how the male was injured and encourage anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area to call the police,” said police spokesperson Marie York-Condon.
If you are able to explain what happened or you might have information that can help, you can reach Yellowknife RCMP at 867-669-1111 – or, alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously via 1-800-222-8477.
