Yellowknife’s finest fish and chips is now the power behind one of Cabin Radio’s finest shows.
Bullocks Bistro is the new title sponsor of Jim Taylor’s Northeast, a weekly show which explores the life stories of East Coast souls transplanted to the Northwest Territories.

Now with more than two-dozen hour-long episodes broadcast, the show still has thousands of potential guests left to go as Jim wends his way through the cast of East Coast characters to have made their homes in Yellowknife and the North.
Bullocks Bistro’s owners, Jo-Ann Martin and Mark Elson, join Jim’s show on Monday, April 8 – 8pm to 9pm MT – to tell their own East Coast story, including the remarkable coincidence by which they teamed up in Yellowknife, and how they came to own the bistro.
Plus, Jo-Ann and Mark reveal the Wildcat Cafe – to be operated by Bullocks Bistro this year – will also sponsor the show.
Bullocks Bistro has been around for 27 years, located in Yellowknife’s Old Town in building built in 1936.
The bistro serves fresh, locally caught fish from Great Slave Lake, alongside fish from Kakisa and from Cambridge Bay, Nunavut – and a wicked bison ribeye.
Catch Jim Taylor’s Northeast every Monday at 8pm MT, repeated Sundays at 2pm MT and available for download on-demand as a podcast.
