Police are requesting the public’s help after a report of a 16-year-old being attacked in downtown Yellowknife.
According to RCMP, the youth reported being assaulted by a man at around lunchtime on Tuesday, April 23.
The incident took place in a parking lot near 50 Street and 51 Avenue.
“The youth did not sustain injuries during the altercation. The suspect fled the scene,” said RCMP in a news release on Friday evening.
“The suspect is described as an Indigenous male, possibly wearing black or khaki pants, and black jacket,” said police.
Staff Sergeant Yannick Hamel appealed for help as police investigated the alleged assault.
“Anyone with information that may assist our members in locating this individual, who may have been in the area and witnessed activity that could have been related to the incident, is asked to contact Yellowknife RCMP,” said Hamel.
