The aircraft was on its way from Amsterdam and heading for Seattle at the time.

Online flight data suggests the aircraft, a Boeing 767-300, landed at around 3pm and took off again shortly thereafter, later arriving in Seattle at 4:30pm Pacific time.

The passenger, a woman, was taken to Stanton Territorial Hospital and is in a stable condition, police said.

Delta Air Lines confirmed to Cabin Radio there had been a diversion for medical reasons.

Emergency medical crews, Yellowknife RCMP, Yellowknife Airport’s fire department, and the Canadian Border Services Agency all responded to the medical emergency.
