Police search for woman over alleged YK prescription fraud

Police in Yellowknife are searching for a woman who allegedly used fraudulent prescriptions to get medication illegally at local pharmacies.

RCMP believe that between March 29 and March 31, the woman visited two different pharmacies to obtain medication she had not been prescribed.

They are sharing the woman’s photo with the public and asking anyone who recognizes her to come forward.

She is around 5 ft 5 in and approximately 170 pounds.

“It is illegal to alter a drug prescription or use forgery with the intention of using the document as genuine,” stated Staff sergeant Yannick Hamel, RCMP operations manager in Yellowknife.
