A man from Behchokǫ̀ is $250,000 richer after winning the Lotto 6/49 and Extra draw on July 12.
According to a Monday press release, Robin Erasmus bought the winning ticket from the Yellowknife Co-op gas bar. He returned to the store to check the ticket after the draw.
“I was so happy, so excited when I saw the amount on the screen,” he was quoted as saying. “I couldn’t believe it.”
Erasmus said he has not yet made any plans for his winnings.
“It feels really, really good to win,” he said.
