Police in Inuvik have asked for residents’ help regarding an incident in the early morning of Friday, May 10.
In a statement on Monday, police said they were called to Union Street early on Friday and “located a male who appeared to have been injured with an edged weapon during an altercation.”
The man, whose identity has not been made public, was taken to hospital. Police, calling the incident a “possible stabbing,” said his injuries were not life-threatening.
“Police also located and arrested one adult male,” the statement continued. “The investigation is ongoing and no names will be released at this time.
“Police have no reason to believe there is any danger to the public and this was an isolated incident.”
RCMP want to hear from anyone who heard or saw anything that could be related to the altercation early on Friday.
