Police have arrested a woman wanted in connection with two Yellowknife robberies, three weeks after issuing a public appeal.

On April 23, RCMP said a warrant for Cynthia Lafferty’s arrest had been issued but they were unable to locate her.

In a statement on Monday afternoon, police said Lafferty had been found and arrested early on Monday morning.

Police said Lafferty’s arrest followed one of “a number of tips from the public” received after their initial appeal.

“We want to thank the public for helping our investigators in locating Ms Lafferty,” said Cpl Julien Chalifour.

Lafferty, 20, faces two counts of robbery and one count of theft under $5,000.

In April, police said they were connecting Lafferty to incidents at several Yellowknife convenience stores.

She was due to appear in court by telephone on Monday.
