Inuvik stabbing: 39-year-old man arrested
Police in Inuvik have arrested a 39-year-old man after an apparent stabbing took place on Friday, May 10.
At the time, police said a man who “appeared to have been injured with an edged weapon” was found on Union Street in the early hours of Friday.
The man’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said, as they asked for witnesses to come forward.
Providing an update on Wednesday, RCMP said Inuvik resident Lanny Pascal-Stewart had been arrested and charged in relation to the incident.
Pascal-Stewart faces charges related to aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
“Inuvik RCMP want to thank the public in regards to the call for public assistance,” said police.
