Yellowknife RCMP are investigating a reported shooting at one of the city’s downtown apartment complexes.
In a statement on Sunday, police said they had been called to a building they identified as Grayling Manor – also known as Greylyn Manor – on 53 Street, early that morning.
“Yellowknife RCMP attended the location and found a 25-year-old man who had suffered a gunshot wound,” read the police statement.
RCMP said the man, who was not identified, received treatment in hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening.
“Police dog services and forensic identification services attended the scene and processed the area,” said police. “At this point the evidence gathered indicates this was an isolated incident.”
The investigation continues.
Anyone who saw the incident, or who was in the area of 53 Street and 50 Avenue between 12am and 1am on Sunday, is asked to contact RCMP at 867-669-1111 or anonymously via Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
