Festival on Franklin 2019: Map and dunk tank list
Festival on Franklin returns to Yellowknife’s downtown on Thursday, June 20, from 5pm.
Cabin Radio’s dunk tank will make its second annual appearance outside our Franklin Avenue studios.
Line up to take a shot at some well-known politicians – and perhaps a municipal enforcement officer or two – and you’ll be helping to generate vital revenue for the NWT SPCA. (The full list of participants is below!)
Our all-new summer 2019 merchandise line, featuring Penny the Cabin Radio puppy, will also be available for the first time during Thursday’s festival.

Kids’ and infants’ sizes are now available for some items, along with a new range of hoodies and tees.
Elsewhere, this year’s festival offers a water-balloon battleground, a makerspace, a shirt-painting area, and a kids’ activity zone.
No fewer than 13 different eateries will be providing food at stations along the main street, with a stage at the 50/50 intersection for live entertainment.
Cabin Radio’s list of dunk tank participants this year includes (schedule correct as of Monday, June 17):
- 6pm: Cory Vanthuyne
- 6:30pm: Rebecca Alty
- 7pm: Glen Abernethy
- 7:30pm: Kieron Testart
- 8pm: Julian Morse
- 8:30pm: Special contest! (See below)
- 9pm: Municipal enforcement
For our 8:30pm slot, you can win the chance to get dunked and take away a one-of-a-kind Cabin Radio tee as your reward. Attend our stall on the night for details.
Thanks to everyone taking part in the dunk tank and the festival as a whole. We’ll see you Thursday!
