Police have been notified after fire crews were called to two burning vehicles within hours of each other at Yellowknife’s sandpits.

Vehicles on fire at the site, on the western outskirts of the city, were reported at both 7:15pm on Tuesday and again at 3:40am the following day.

On each occasion, a two-person fire crew with a tanker attended, the City of Yellowknife told Cabin Radio on Thursday.

“Both vehicles appear to have been abandoned. No injuries are reported,” a City spokesperson said by email.
