Yellowknife RCMP are asking for help in their search for a male suspect involved in an assault in Yellowknife’s Old Town.

Police stated they arrived on Franklin Avenue in Old Town Saturday, July 13, at around 6:25 p.m. They found an injured man who was then transported by medevac and treated for injuries which were not life-threatening.

“The victim was walking on the sidewalk when he came across the suspect, riding a bike on the sidewalk,” RCMP stated in a news release Thursday. “An exchange of words turned into an argument and, without warning, the suspect assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene.”

Cabin Radio previously reported on Yellowknife resident Cameron Wilson describing an assault that happened at the same time in front of the Gallery of the Midnight Sun as ‘completely unprovoked.’ Wilson’s Facebook post was shared more than 250 times.
