Tulita man charged with making child pornography
A 24-year-old man from Tulita, who has not been named, has been charged with multiple child pornography offences.
He was arrested on Monday in Fort Simpson by the RCMP, with the assistance of Tulita RCMP and the NT RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE).
Using a search warrant, police seized electronic devices at the man’s home and subsequently charged him with sexual interference, possessing child pornography, and making child pornography.
Police say that because of the small size of the community and the type of charges, they will not be sharing his name to protect the identity of the victim.
While the investigation is continuing, RCMP said they don’t think there is a safety risk for the community right now.
