Boolesque tickets go on sale at noon Monday

Yellowknife’s Boolesque show returns for a second year next month, with tickets on sale from noon on Monday, September 23.

Billed as “Yellowknife’s spookiest burlesque show,” Boolesque takes over the Top Knight bar on October 17, 18, and 19.

Tickets, which are cash-only, can be purchased from the Black Knight. Regular admission is $35, while four-person front-row tables are $175.

In a news release, organizer Samantha Marriott said: “Last year taught us Yellowknifers love Halloween. So why not give them what they want?”

Fellow organizer Breanna Bray said: “We started the first year off with a vision to fill a burlesque void and figured it would be a fun way to spend a fall.

“The feedback was incredible from both performers and audience members, and we decided to start making it an annual thing.”

Around 20 acts are expected to perform in the two-hour show. Bray said the content of some performances warrants a “viewer warning.”

“We embrace everything from campy to vampy and everything in between and beyond,” she said. “Expect pop culture references as well as original creations.
