Man facing charges after ‘firearm incident’ in Tuktoyaktuk


A man has been arrested and is facing charges after an incident reported to involve a firearm in the hamlet of Tuktoyaktuk on Sunday.

As first reported by CKLB, a 43-year-old man was sent to Inuvik for treatment after the incident at a home in Tuktoyaktuk.

The man was not publicly identified. His injuries were said by police not to be life-threatening.

In an email, RCMP spokesperson Julie Plourde told Cabin Radio police attended the home at 8:50pm on Sunday. Officers found the alleged victim and arrested another man at the scene.

The injured man is now in stable condition, Plourde stated. The investigation is ongoing.
