Man charged with attempted murder after Tuktoyaktuk shooting
Police say a 38-year-old man is charged with attempted murder after a shooting in Tuktoyaktuk sent another man to hospital.
RCMP previously said they were called to the scene outside a home in Tuktoyaktuk on the evening of September 22.
The injured man, a 43-year-old found nearby, was sent to hospital in Inuvik, police said. His injuries were not said to be life-threatening.
Police say they subsequently located the suspect in the area. RCMP stated Michael Robert Gruben, 38, is charged with attempted murder and five other charges: careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, uttering threats, pointing a firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Gruben is in custody and was scheduled to appear in court in Yellowknife on Tuesday.
