Police investigate sudden death in Inuvik

Police are investigating after officers found a 54-year-old man unresponsive at a home in Inuvik on Tuesday night.

In a news release on Wednesday, RCMP in the community said they found the unresponsive man following a call just before 10pm on Tuesday, after which the man was pronounced dead by medical staff.

The man was not identified by police, who said they will not release further information while an investigation in conjunction with the NWT coroner’s office takes place.

The RCMP’s major crimes and forensic identification units are also part of the investigation.
