Inuvik police charge man over aggravated assault
Inuvik police on Friday named a 24-year-old man charged in connection with an assault said to have left another man seriously injured.
RCMP said the incident took place just before 8am on Wednesday, when police recieved a call “about an aggravated assault at a residence.”
Police said a 34-year-old man required hospital treatment and was later transferred to Edmonton with injuries that were serious, but not life-threatening. He was not identified.
RCMP said their investigation led them to arrest and charge Dustin Travis Rogers, a 24-year-old Inuvik resident.
Rogers is charged with aggravated assault. According to police, he is scheduled to appear in court in Inuvik on January 21.
Police said their investigation is ongoing.
