It looks beautiful – and they haven’t even built it yet.
Snowking and his wintry pals are preparing for the 2020 festival, which opens on February 29, by extricating ice from Yellowknife Bay for the building blocks of the castle.
For a month each year, residents and tourists can visit the architectural marvel on the frozen lake. The castle plays host to special events, exhibitions, and concerts throughout March.
