Those green bags over the parking meters in downtown Yellowknife on Friday mean free parking for the day in designated spaces.
The promotion is part of an NWT and Nunavut Lotteries campaign. Parking at spaces along downtown Franklin Avenue will be free all day, the group said.
Lottery bosses ran a similar promotion in the city earlier this year.
This time, the bags read: “Happy holidays. Parking is free today!”

They’ll remain in place throughout regular meter hours on Friday, December 6.
