Two charged over alcohol sales to ‘Yellowknife’s most vulnerable’
Police have charged two men over claims they sold alcohol “to downtown Yellowknife’s most vulnerable citizens.”
The men, who were not named by police, are aged 38 and 41. Police said their arrest followed an investigation that took place between November and January.
The two face charges regarding unlawful sale of alcohol under the NWT Liquor Act.
The precise detail of how the men are alleged to have acted was not provided.
“This is not a victimless crime,” said Staff Sergeant Yannick Hamel, operations manager at the Yellowknife detachment. “We are being proactive in stopping this kind of activity.”
The men are set to appear in court on March 3, police said.
