attemptress soundtracks Wednesday evenings at the Cabin

Attemptress

Yellowknife’s attemptress (aka Kate Reid) has been obsessed with music since she was small.

The album that changed her life on its release was Nirvana’s In Utero, which she taped from a friend’s older brother’s CD (and is pretty sure she wore out the cassette).

In high school, she was a lunchtime DJ at Ecole St Patrick High School in Yellowknife. She went on to study journalism in Toronto, where she interned for Chart magazine and spent most of her waking hours at shows and record shops. In 2011-2013, she dabbled in mixing EDM under the moniker attemptress, which remains her nom de plume for artistic endeavours ever since.

attemptress loves music with her whole heart and loves stories about music that makes people feel that way. Join her on Wednesdays, 6-8pm, as she discusses and plays the music that soundtracks our lives. Contact her on Twitter @attemptress or attemptress@gmail.com to talk about the music that moves you, and why. You will likely hear it on an upcoming show!
