Sunday, 10pm: Cabin Radio’s Easter Metal Special

Adrienne hosts Cabin Radio’s Easter Metal Special – what? That’s totally a thing – from 9pm Saturday, repeated 10pm Sunday.

Joined by a series of special guests, Adrienne delves into the story of Easter using metal as her medium for a two-and-a-half hour show.

“It originated in a conversation among friends about the origin of different genres of music,” Adrienne told us. “We got talking about Vikings and heavy metal, which spun into mythology and Easter, and there was an obvious connection there.

“We go into the history of Easter, where the name comes from, a bit about the story of Christian Easter – which is a pretty hardcore week that their figure goes through.

“There are a lot of themes in metal that link very closely with the themes of Easter, the mythology around the Christ figure and the Viking gods. There are all kinds of overlaps.”

Acts on the show include Iron Maiden, Rammstein, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Dream Theater, Mariachi Ghost, and much more.

If you miss Saturday’s airing, catch a repeat from 10pm a day later on Sunday, April 1.
