Watch: Brie’s canoe conundrum – why didn’t anyone help?

Brie O'Keefe in Cabin Radio Studio 1

Yellowknife resident Brie O’Keefe was paddling to her houseboat when she was forced out of her canoe in high winds.

Brie had to swim for shore in cold temperatures, alone. But her spirits lifted when she caught sight of a bystander watching her from the Rotary Park shoreline.

However, as she finally got close enough to haul herself out of the freezing water, that person simply walked away.

In the video, Brie describes chasing after them to confront them about why they didn’t offer her any help. What would you have done if you were Brie, or the bystander?
