A burst water pipe forced the temporary closure of Yellowknife’s Ruth Inch Memorial Pool on Friday morning.

The City said the water break happened in the construction zone on Franklin Avenue. Water was swiftly restored to most buildings in the area after a brief shut-off, but the pool was an exception.

Water to the pool was restored shortly after 9am, the City said, and the pool was set to reopen to the public at noon on Friday.
