Stabbing in downtown Yellowknife, suspect arrested


RCMP have arrested and charged a man following a stabbing in downtown Yellowknife on Friday evening.

In a news release on Monday, police said they had charged Kurtis Thrasher with aggravated assault and failure to comply with an undertaking.

Thrasher is due in court on Tuesday.

Police say officers and medics found a man suffering from stab wounds to his head in the area of 49 Street and 50 Avenue.

The wounded man’s identity has not been revealed and his condition is unclear.
