Summer Dave explores rock’s classic albums, every Thursday
Dad Rock is a weekly show exploring what host Summer Dave calls the greatest era of music: classic rock.
Dave will be playing all the greats from the 60s, 70s, and 80s along with some deeper cuts from the vast classic rock catalogue. Tune in every Thursday at 6pm on Cabin Radio, repeated Sundays at 3pm.
Segments include the Dad Rock Album of the Week in which Dave examines iconic classic rock albums. He also dives deep into the underrated genius of dad jokes among other fun segments. Dad Rock will also feature special guests and themed shows.
Summer Dave Hurley is a longtime northerner, having moved to Yellowknife in 1993 by way of St John’s, NL.
Despite being a little late to the game (born in 1978), Dave has had classic rock in his veins for as long as he can remember, growing up on greats like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Joplin, and Springsteen. The 8x10mm area of his eardrum is permanently occupied by gnarly guitar licks and thought-provoking vocals.
With “Dad Rock” Dave hopes to share with listeners his experiences with music, parenthood, and life in the Great White North.
