Theft at Inuvik’s golf club, 150 bottles of beer stolen
As if running a golf course in the Arctic weren’t difficult enough, Inuvik’s Roads End Golf Club is dealing with a theft.
Police say they are investigating an alleged break and enter dating to last Tuesday.
RCMP received a call shortly after 7pm that evening, advising the clubhouse had been broken into some time in the prior two days.
“During the investigation, information was received indicating two locks used to deadbolt the club house door closed were broken off,” police said in a news release issued on Monday.
“Approximately 150 bottles of beer were stolen along with a Square card reader that accepted credit cards with tap and chip functionality.”
Police say the investigation continues. If you have information that could help, contact Inuvik RCMP at 867-777-1111 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
The club says it has “the most northern grass golf course in North America,” built in 2009 and boasting six holes alongside a driving range.
