Yellowknife’s Twist and Shout downtown bar and club is for sale.

The owners have listed the building for a price of $1.31 million. Century 21 realtor Dwayne Simmons described the sale as a “unique turn-key opportunity to walk in and take over a proven business.”

Twist and Shout’s owners are Colin Snow and Jason Perrino. Perrino told Cabin Radio they are looking to make a change.

Asked if that would mean acquiring another Yellowknife establishment, leaving the industry, or moving to another community, Perrino said: “We do have some ideas and they include each of the options you’ve listed.

“Until we have an accepted offer, we continue to come up with options and continue to dream of the future.”

Perrino added the only thing they have ruled out is “going back to regular jobs.”

Twist is not the only downtown Yellowknife eatery looking for fresh faces. The Cellar, just around the corner, has been closed pending interest from a new operator since May.

According to Perrino, who formerly operated the After 8 bar, the Twist building had been on the market for a decade before he and Snow acquired it.

He expects the building’s sale to take time, and reassured customers he does not expect to be “going anywhere any time soon.”

Twist has been under its current management since early 2015. It was joined by downstairs club Shout – which replaced Fuego – in 2017.

The building, built in 1968, offers 5,858 sq ft including a commercial kitchen, an upstairs dining room and downstairs dance club.
