There is also going to be a free family fiddle dance on Saturday, November 4th, from 7-9 pm, at Northern United Place. Jarred, Stacey, and Andrea on fiddles, Ben Russo on guitar, Ryan McCord calling dances, and Vanessa Sanguez and Olga Aviugana will be teaching some jigging.
Jarred Albright is a professional fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and banjo player based in Edmonton, Alberta. He lives and breathes all things music; when he is not practicing or performing he is teaching, recording, producing, writing or composing.
Jarred Albright has played the violin since he was seven years old and music has been his focus ever since. He discovered the joys of fiddle style very early on and spent his underage years with the Calgary Fiddlers performing over a hundred times a year before entering post-secondary to pursue jazz performance at Grant Macewan University. Since then he has endeavoured to teach himself to sing and play mandolin, guitar, and banjo. Music has taken him around the world including the United States, South Korea, England, Scotland, and Ireland. These days Jarred keeps busy performing with many diverse local acts, recording and producing from his home studio, ceaselessly practicing, and sharing his love of music with his students.
Fiddling since the age of four; Sackville, New Brunswick’s, Stacey Read has performed at The Stan Rogers Folk Festival, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Festival of Small Halls PEI and even at The North Pole for Canada’s Military Service persons. A finalist in Canada’s Grand Master Fiddling Championships; with 10 albums to her credit, she is also a Berklee College of Music graduate. With over 50 private students in fiddle, step-dance and piano, she created The New Brunswick Old Time Fiddle Company and serves as artistic director for the International touring cast of The Lumber Jills since 2014.
