Laurier-ARI Spring Speaker Series

Have you ever wondered why harmful algal blooms form in Yellowknife’s Jackfish Lake? Are you curious about how northern landscapes shape freshwater ecosystems? Join us at Makerspace YK on Thursday, June 26th from 6 – 7:30pm to learn more about these exciting topics from the scientists doing the research!

This is the final event of a four-part in-person speaker series at Makerspace YK, brought to you by Wilfrid Laurier University, the Cold Regions Research Centre, and the Aurora Research Institute. The series features presentations by early-career researchers with ongoing research projects in the Northwest Territories on topics such as ice, water, wildlife, and climate.

This series is an opportunity for the public to connect with the science happening in Yellowknife and the boarder NWT, and for researchers to connect with the community. Everyone is welcome! Light snacks and refreshments will be provided as well as some door prizes. Hope to see you there!
