MFRC YK Thrift Sale

Since 2012, a committee of primarily military members and spouses, has been organizing a spring and fall Children’s Thrift sale. The need for items associated with the pleasure of raising up a family can be, from time to time, very difficult financially, especially for an isolated location like ours. Shoppers benefit from being able to purchase gently used items at a reasonable cost with a variety of clothing that has been previously purchased down south or up here.
People sign up to become vendors (limited spots available).  They are provided with a vendor number and guidance on what they can and cannot sell (no stains or holes, must contain all pieces and be in good shape, etc…).  They tag their items with their vendor number and price. Prior to the sale, items are distributed by category, size and gender (for ease of shopping). Volunteers run the sale without the vendors needing to monitor tables. At the end of the sale, volunteers sort items by vendor number. Vendors then pick up the remaining unsold articles and receive 100% of the profits that they have sold.
