Do you know someone who deserves to be recognized for their contributions to and lasting impact on the NWT?

The NWT Legislative Assembly says it is now accepting nominations for 2025 inductees into the Order of the Northwest Territories.

As the territory’s highest honour, the award recognizes “outstanding contributions or achievements” by current or former NWT residents.

More than 30 people have been named to the Order of the NWT, or ONWT, since the honour was created in 2013.

“From educators and volunteers to scientists, leaders, and community builders, the ONWT celebrates those who have gone above and beyond in service to the territory and its people,” the legislature stated in a news release.
