Hay River RCMP are investigating a structural fire on Fir Crescent that occurred in the early hours of Monday.
Police say they received a call at around 4am that day and attended the scene alongside the Hay River Fire Department.
While the fire was reported to have caused minimal damage, RCMP described it as suspicious in nature.
“There are no reported injuries and no arrests have been made,” RCMP told Cabin Radio on Thursday. “The investigation is ongoing.”
During a council meeting earlier this week, town manager Glenn Smith said the home’s occupants were able to “partially extinguish” the fire before firefighters arrived at the location.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Hay River detachment at 867-874-1111.
