RCMP in Ontario say they have shut down a major cannabis distribution operation after being alerted to a parcel containing a large amount of cannabis destined for the NWT.
According to a Tuesday news release, police have now completed a two-month investigation into a network operating across “multiple jurisdictions using various distribution methods, including the mail system.”
RCMP said the investigation began when Canada Post notified officers about a suspicious package. Investigators uncovered an online operation linked to a website called “Culture Cannabis Canada.”
Police said the network used the site to distribute cannabis, cannabis-based products and psilocybin – classified as Schedule III substances under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act – to customers across multiple provinces and territories.
“On March 10, 2026, the RCMP executed two search warrants at two Ottawa south residences,” the news release stated.
“Investigators seized a total of 485 kg of dried cannabis, 36 kg of hash, 18 kg of Psilocybin and over 7,000 cannabis-infused edibles, cannabis-infused vapes and unstamped tobacco with a total approximate street value of over $5.5 million.”
Police said officers also seized $115,360 and one vehicle believed to have been used in the operation.
RCMP’s Serious and Organized Crime Unit charged three Ottawa residents in connection with the investigation: 41-year-old Julie Michelle Langevin, 33-year-old Deepak Parmar and 33-year-old Isha Bhardwaj.
All three accused were released on an undertaking and are expected to appear in Ottawa court on May 5.
