A 27-year-old woman is accused of breaking into a Hay River motel and robbing a nearby taxi driver earlier this week.

Royanne Bugghins, from the Kátł’odeeche First Nation, faces two charges over the incidents according to an RCMP statement issued on Friday evening.

“During the early hours of Thursday March 28, a local taxi driver approached Hay River RCMP members to report he had just been robbed. The driver gave a description of a suspect,” said police in the news release.

“Further investigation determined that this person was also responsible for breaking into the Migrator Motel earlier that night.”
