A Yellowknife office building had to be temporarily evacuated on Friday afternoon after a vehicle fire near its air intake.

Workers at the Bowling Green building said it had begun to fill with smoke after a vehicle caught fire in the adjacent parking lot to the north.

A fire truck was on the scene as of 4:30pm, with municipal enforcement and an ambulance in attendance. There was no immediate word of any injuries.

This marks the second reported vehicle fire in the city in a matter of days.

On Tuesday, firefighters were called to a vehicle fire on Range Lake Road. Nobody was injured in that incident.
