Fort Good Hope’s Cassien Edgi Health and Social Services Centre is closed due to the community’s wildfire evacuation.
The closure will remain until further notice, the NWT’s Health and Social Services Authority said in a news release on Sunday evening, but there are still supports in the community.
“A mobile paramedic service is stationed in the community to address basic health needs in the community and for first responders until services can be re-established at the health centre. Emergency services personnel in [the] community will be able to reach the paramedic by radio in the event of any communication outages,” explained the health authority.
The on-site paramedics will be able to provide basic care for urgent issues, but anyone needing additional treatment or assessment may be transferred out of Fort Good Hope.
Residents who remain in the community can call 811 to talk to a registered nurse if they have health concerns, or call 867-496-0004 if they have an emergency.
