The Town of Inuvik says the community’s swimming pool remains closed as workers try to find a leak that forced it out of service last month.
On June 11, the town said staff were draining the pool at the Midnight Sun Recreation Complex and planned a structural assessment.
At the time, the town said maintenance checks had uncovered “significant concerns” with the foundation of the pool, which has spent most of the past several years closed because of a range of concerns.
In a Friday afternoon update, the town said staff were working with engineers from Aecom to “pinpoint the exact location of the leak and are developing a solution to fix it as quickly as possible.”
“We understand the inconvenience this closure may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding,” the town stated.
“We will provide you with more updates as soon as more information becomes available.”
