The NWT Health and Social Services Authority says that Yellowknife Public Health Services will be on reduced services until at least January 6, 2025.
In a public notice on Wednesday afternoon, the health authority, or NTHSSA, said services are being reduced to ensure essential programs are maintained amid low staffing.
“The NTHSSA thanks all impacted residents for their patience and understanding during this time,” the notice stated.
The health authority said as a result of the service reduction, some changes will be made to well child visits. It said people who are impacted will be contacted.
The health authority added that appointments for travel vaccinations will not be available during this time.
The service reduction is also expected to impact some currently booked appointments.
The authority said residents who have booked an appointment may be called to cancel. It said it will create a waitlist of cancelled appointments, which will be given rebooking priority when appointments are available.
