Residents of Tuktoyaktuk gathered at Kitti Hall on June 5 to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Inuvialuit Day.
In the Beaufort Delta, June 5 marks the signing of the the region’s final land claims agreement in 1984.
To mark the occasion, the hamlet hosted activities throughout the day including bannock making, bird calling and traditional dress competitions.

Plenty of country food and snacks were served.
The evening wrapped up with a drum dance featuring local drummers and dancers, followed by foot races and a harpoon toss to conclude the celebrations.
Here are some of our photos from the day.
