The NWT RCMP says the Calgary Police Service is leading “a statutory investigation” into one of its officers.

Both the NWT RCMP and Calgary Police Service confirmed to Cabin Radio that Calgary police are investigating an incident involving an NWT RCMP officer.

However, neither police force stated the basis of that investigation, the name of the officer involved, or which NWT community they work in.

They said no charges have been laid at this time and further information would not be released while the investigation is ongoing.

The Calgary Police Service said NWT RCMP had requested that it investigate the incident.
