City of Yellowknife staff say they now have a webpage dedicated to listing active planning applications.
The page – launched this week – was publicized by staff during a council meeting on Tuesday and subsequently in a press release.
It lists anything under active consideration by city planning staff.
At Tuesday’s council meeting, planning director Charlsey White announced the page’s creation while responding to a request from councillor Ryan Fequet.
Fequet had asked about a proposed development on Calder Crescent.
“There’s a lot of confusion about what’s happening,” Fequet said, asking staff to provide clarification about what was being proposed.
White, in response, said the Calder Crescent application is “to change the use from a dwelling to what is called a special care residence.”
The city defines a special care residence as a development “where persons reside for the primary purpose of receiving support, supervision or treatment,” White continued.
She added what she called a “shameless plug” for the new webpage, which at the time of writing contains the Calder Crescent application alongside six other recent decisions.
