Cabin Radio

Police say they’re in the dark after the alleged theft of light bars and a mounting bracket from Parks Canada vehicles in Inuvik last week.

The vehicles were sitting overnight at Parks Canada’s office on Kingmingya Road when the theft is said to have taken place.

“Overnight, LED light bars and one mounting bracket were stolen [from] two Parks Canada vehicles,” read an RCMP statement.

Police asked residents for help tracing the light bars, which are described as E-series “Pro 20-inch” bars in new condition. Only one mounting bracket was taken, meaning of the light bars has no attached bracket.

There was no suggestion that anyone had yet been arrested or charged in relation to the apparent crime.

RCMP said anyone who can shed light on the alleged theft should call the Inuvik detachment at 867-777-1111 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
